Cinecittà Story 5- Angela Taranto
Before the war, Angela lived in Fiume. She was widowed and worked as a dressmaker. In June 1944, she was deported to Germany along with her child where she worked in a factory. After the liberation she was repatriated to Italy since she was born in Italy, yet she wanted to return to Fiume. She was placed in the Cinecitta camp. She lived in the camp for 20 months, her second child was born there, and in March 1947 she was transferred to a camp in Ducenta and subsequently to Cremona. Since Fiume became part of Yugoslavia, Angela decided to apply for Italian citizenship.
